I bought this book not quite sure what to expect, because how often do you find a book where the title is asking you if it's funny or not. However, this book is hilarious, and if you are from or ever have been in New York and/or was a child growing up in the 80s, then this is the book for you. I am a New Yorker and a child of the 80's and this book has a lot of nostalgic references. It made me feel like I know the author. The 80s references alone make this book worth buying. There are so many things about Patricia G.'s stories that I love, including her amazing artwork, but to answer the question posed in the title...yes, it is funny...actually, it's more than funny. It's also a very quick read. One warning for you parents out there...this is not a kids book. So having said that, if you're looking for a pick me up, do yourself a favor and buy this book.
