I haven't read the other three star review yet, but I definitely agree that this series needs to end already. Don't get me wrong, it's pretty good, but five books into this, it is getting very hard for me not to get annoyed with all the arm-twisting in this - and I mean that both literally and figuratively. The rough-necking in this goes above and beyond to the point of absurdity. Zeth is such an alpha male and although that is part of his dark and sexy swag, sometimes his outbursts comes across like that of a steroid crazed maniac. His overprotective nature over Sloane was smothering to the point where I had to roll my eyes every time he threatened to "break something" if someone so much as looked at her the wrong way.

Another thing that is making me weary of this drawn out series is Sloane's hypocritical nature. Before I go off on my mini rant, let me say that if you're reading this review, I'm hoping that you at least read the book before this, Fallen. This is definitely not a stand alone story, unless you're only in it for the sexy animal on the book cover. Any one book in this series has got action for days, not to mention scenes of wicked hot sex with a man that would give Christian Grey a run for his millions. With that said, some of what I'm about to bitch about may spoil the developing plot of the previous book in this series so be warned.

I'm getting damn sick of her attitude with Rebel when Zeth in my opinion is just as bad, if not worse given the revelations in this book. Yet, he can do no wrong and she even continues to make excuses for him when it still stands that the man's past is still virtually a mystery to her. Zeth has just as much blood on his hands and Sloane has been a witness to the man's capabilities and to what lengths he'd go through to protect her from his enemies , but Rebel is the enemy because he was going to buy her virginity? Apparently killing people in the name of protecting her and her family is acceptable - as well as torturing people, something Zeth is adeptly skilled at - but all of this gets a pass in Sloane's eyes because it's all for her. All of that said, is it really so impossible to conceive that maybe her sister might actually feel the same about the bad boy in her life?

Zeth has Sloane so pipe-whipped that she's turned her back on practically everyone who cares about her. Her career as a doctor is toast and now she's got the DEA after her. So what's left for her to focus on now but her relationship with Zeth while they're still ducking and dodging Charlie Holson - a relationship that up until the last story, Fallen, was based on nothing but animal sex. In this book, they're finally being forced to admit that what they have isn't just some a long-drawn out booty-call. And while they're dealing with their deepening feelings for one another, some domestic revelations come to light about the person Zeth has been running from all this time. Learning of these events do little to improve their relations, however, and by the time the final installment comes out, I'm pretty sure the outcome will be the same - his enemies will be dead.

All of that said, I'm glad that there's only one more installment in this series. This story has gotten so far from the original point of the story when it started out and I'm not too interested in the direction it's moving in now. That's not to say it's bad - I just don't care for the general outcome of Sloane's sister's circumstances. It came out of left field and I liked it better when I thought she was in real danger. In any case, toward the end of Twisted a third perspective is introduced into the story for the first time. I guess Mrs. Hart is preparing to make the transition into Rebel's story so I guess there will be more where that came from in the last story.

However weary I am, I will see Zeth and Sloane's story to the end in this last story. Despite the three-star rating (the lowest rating I ever gave for any of the previous stories in the series,)I still say that this is some of the best action/drama-based erotica I've ever read. The action is hot and the sex is hotter. It's violent and sexy - I only wished there were more writers of the genre like this out there.

Twisted Blood Roses series Book 5 edition by Callie Hart Marion Archer Sarah Benelli Prema Editing Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

When this went live on I snatched it up and put down the book I was already reading so I could spend some much need time with Zeth. My jaw continually hit the floor all throughout this book. There was also one ore two people that I severely wanted to slap across the face. I was excited to know more about Michael and Rebel's history together. Callie actually gave Michael a little bit of a voice in this book which was cool.

Sloane Romera knows her confession on the phone may just send Zeth away for good. Between dodging Charlie, Julio, and the D.E.A. Sloane is starting to figure out what is truly important to her. This whole situation lets her know just who her friends are and who she needs to actually watch out for.

Zeth Mayfair is thrown for a loop my an admission that Sloane makes on the phone. Zeth doesn't know how to feel the way Sloane needs him to. Zeth knows if he wants Sloane to stick around he is going to have to stop and chance how he handles his "job" from here on in. Zeth wants to show Sloane how he feels, but for so long, he has considered those type of feelings a weakness which he is now having a hard time reconciling with.

Oh my gosh I am already fiending for the next book. I NEED to know what happens next. I LOVE how Callie constantly keeps Zeth and Sloane evolving so that they don't become a stagnant couple. She keeps throwing things at them that keeps me coming back to each new book wondering what form of hell they are going to be facing this time. I really can't say anymore or I will ruin this book for someone. On a scale from 1-5 I give Twisted a nail-biting 10. It is hard to keep to my scale when each of Callie's books blows the previous one out of the water. If you are looking for a Dark Romance with characters you actually want to root for, sinister villains, twisted family ties, or if you just like a story that has more than one type of criminal and an anti-hero worth drooling over than you NEED to pick up a copy of Twisted. Everyone Adult 18+ NEEDS to pick up a copy of Twisted. If you haven't read the first four books in this series Deviant (Book #1), Fractured (Book #2), Burn (Book #3), or Fallen (Book #4) (links to all four reviews below) then you need to pick them up as well and catch up with the rest of us, Zeth's angry girls....^_^. Trust me you don't want to miss out on reading Callie's Blood & Roses Series. Come find out how Zeth and his angry girl Sloane evade hostile threats while their sanctuary falls down around them.
twist·ed

1. forced out of its natural or proper shape; crumpled.
2. (of a personality or a way of thinking) unpleasantly or unhealthily abnormal; warped.
I binged read this series over the last few days. They were addicting, so much so, that I’d finish a book and I wouldn’t even take the time to mark it finished on goodreads. I’d just move on to the next book. Referring to my reading experience as me being a crazed person wouldn't be an understatement.

With that said, I apologize because I had no idea that I wouldn’t be able to set the books down to review each one individually. Now that I’m done with the series I'm trying to remember what happened in certain books is hard because, to me, it’s one big story split into six books. To avoid devulging any spoilers I will keep this review brief.

During the course of these installments the character growth was brilliantly done. I loved all the characters... well except for the bad guys. Besides our hero and heroine (Zeth & Sloane) who I couldn't get enough of, my heart was captured by Lacey and Michael! Oh my gosh!! That’s a man I would like to get to know better. His loyalty, charm and swagger had me swooning to the very end! The world could use some more Michaels in it.

Holy hot tamales! The sexy times were off the charts! No worries they were throughout the whole series. Every man needs an inner Zeth when it comes to bedroom antics. *fanning myself*

Callie Hart has a new fan with me! When a book(s) can occupy my every thoughts that’s a winner for me. I’m lucky because this series was complete when I picked it up to read otherwise I would have gone nuts waiting for the next book.
